Kia Sprinkle Wilson emerges as a dynamic candidate for the people of Arkansas in District 76. Her journey from the halls of Capitol Hill to the hospitality industry reflects a commitment to both public service and community well-being.
Kia’s educational foundation was laid at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she earned a BA in psychology. This academic pursuit set the stage for a career that seamlessly blended her love for politics and a genuine desire to serve others.
Upon graduation, Kia relocated to Washington, DC, to work on Capitol Hill, an experience that provided invaluable insights into the intricacies of the political process. During this time, she attended Howard University and concurrently worked as a staffer for Senator AR John Boozman during his initial two terms in the House of Representatives. These formative years shaped Kia’s understanding of the importance of effective governance and community engagement.
Kia’s dedication to public service extended beyond her time in Congress. She continued her journey in Washington, DC, by joining the American Psychological Association as a legislative assistant to their lobbyists. This role allowed her to contribute to shaping policies that impact the well-being of individuals and communities.
Returning to Arkansas, Kia discovered a new passion for hospitality, taking on roles such as Banquet Event Captain at the Little Rock Marriott and Catering Sales Manager at the Marriott. Her journey in the hospitality sector continued as she assumed the position of Assistant Banquet Manager at the Sheraton in Downtown Memphis, TN. Kia’s diverse professional experiences have equipped her with a well-rounded perspective on the needs of her community.
Currently serving on Little Rock’s City Beautiful Commission, Kia is deeply involved in various community projects, volunteering her time to make a positive impact. Balancing her commitment to public service, Kia works part-time as a banquet event server at the Doubletree in Little Rock and as a legal assistant.
